Personal property taken as evidence of a crime (i.e. cell phones, clothing, and firearms) can not be released until authorization has been received from the investigating officer, prosecutor, or judge. After an authorized release has been given, you must call the Property and Evidence Section of the Police Department at 304-348-6426 extension 221 or 222 to make an appointment to pick up the item.
