Are there any protections in place for those who report animal nuisances or animal cruelty?

A person has the right to request to be anonymous.

However, in majority of cases, the Humane Officers will need the reporting party/witness to be able to provide a written or verbal statement and have said person available to testify in court. Without admissible evidence of the violation, including necessary testimony from the witness(es), the case cannot be prosecuted.

Any further protections for the reporting party likely depend on if the party can obtain a Personal Safety Order (PSO) that the reporting party would need to request by filing a petition for a PSO in State Court against the opposing party.
