How can I access warming/cooling shelters/centers?

The City of Charleston partners with the Kanawha Valley Collective (KVC) to operate warming and cooling centers.
When warming centers are activated (temps of 20 degrees or below), they are open 7P - 7A and hosted at Bream Church (317 Washington St W).
When cooling centers are activated (in the event of an excessive heat warning), the time and location varies. Details can be obtained by calling KVC at 304-346-6638 or contacting the CARE Team.
